About Mystic Meows Cattery
|
Mystic Meows is a small CFA cattery located in the Myrtle Beach area of SC. We breed Siamese and Oriental cats.
Being a small in home cattery we may only have a few litters a year. We let our females rest between litters; our females are not mass kitten producers. We have been dedicated to breeding purebred Siamese, Orientals and Colorpoints for fine quality, sound health, and most loving personalities.
Our kittens are raised in our house. The kittens are born in our bedroom and stay in there with us until they are eight weeks old. Then we let them out into the rest of the house after thier first shots. We give the kittens attention from the day they are born until they go to their new homes. There may be a wait on our kittens; we will do a waiting list on upcoming litters. Also please keep checking back with us.
We hope you enjoy the pictures of our cats and kittens. They bring us such joy and we are happy to be able to share them with you. We love our little ones while they are here and we miss them when they leave for their new homes.
Since breeding we have had very pleased owners of our kittens. Many thanks to the families who have adopted our kittens. We love getting your emails and pictures of our babies growing up. It is so nice to see how happy and loved our kittens are with you!
About Our Kittens & Policies:
We take great pride in raising healthy cats that are free of feline disorders, infectious diseases and parasites. All kittens are registered with CFA or TICA and sold with a contract that includes a health guarantee.
Buyer Contract: All buyers are required to sign a contract. The contract provides details on the health guarantees and stipulates other requirements that must be adhered to by the buyer.
Spay/Neuter Requirements: Your kitten must be spayed (females) or neutered (males) by 8 months of age. Anytime after six months is ideal (although the longer you can hold off neutering a male, the better). Spaying and Neutering benefits your cat's health and quality of life.
Immunizations: All of our adults maintain immunizations. Our Cats also receive monthly worm medication. Random blood testing is done periodically to insure the health of our cats. There is no contact with outside cats, other than an occasional, selective breeding from another cattery that we know and trust.
Food: All of our kittens and cats now eat Blue Buffalo dry food, Wellness grain free canned food along with a beef and chicken diet. Kittens should be fed kitten food until they are six months old, they can be fed kitten food up to a year old. We trust and believe that Wellness & Blue Buffalo are good brand names to give to your kitten and cats.
Outdoor Cats: We perfer you keep them inside. Contrary to what many people believe, cats do not need to go outside. Once they get a taste of the great outdoors they become quite adept at slipping out the door. Despite the intelligence of Siamese and Orientals, they're incredibly lacking when it comes to outdoor instincts since they were born and raised inside.
Declawing: You don't have to declaw cats. All it takes is training and give them something to scratch on and they are fine. See our link page for Soft Paws, they also help if you have a kitten or cat that likes to scratch. The one main reason not to declaw is it obviously renders cats helpless if they ever accidentally get outside.
Scratching Post Training: We begin scratching post training as soon as our kittens begin to start scratching. A kitten that has been exposed to a variety of scratching materials at a young age will generally not have a problem destroying furniture and carpeting. We have sisal rope scratching posts and cardboard scratching boxes for them to train on and get use to before going to their new homes!
Claw Clipping: We begin clipping our kittens claws around 8 weeks of age. Keeping your kitten/cat's claws clipped is also helpful with scratching problems. They tend to scratch less if their claws are kept trimmed, so try to do this once a month.
Price of a kitten: The price depends on the parents and the how the litter turns out. Most pet kittens are $500.00 each.
The price of your kitten includes your healthy kitten that has had their first two vaccines, wormers and vet exam. Registration paper for CFA or TICA. We also give new owners a kitten care packet that includes kitten food they are use to eating and some toys.
